Getting into the Craft Show is challenging as an esteemed panel of jurors judges artists who apply. This year, 195 talented artists were selected from various places in and around Philadelphia. They will represent multiple works in 13 diverse categories of art created by hand. Some of this year's chosen artists include Kate Dannenberg (Metal and Jewelry), Larry Allen (Ceramics), Isabelle Gougenheim (Fiber Wearable), and Ray Jones (Wood), to name a few. All work is for sale with no commission taken. Whether you are passionate about jewelry, metal, clay, wood, or more, Craft Show Management says this year's event will have something for everyone to enjoy.
“This year’s dynamic lineup of artists from across the country brings a fresh perspective to their work in wood, ceramics, glass, jewelry, metal, decorative fiber, and wearables. We are happy to welcome back many artists who have shown with us at past shows and 45 new artists participating in our show for the first time,” said Show Chair Ami Lonner.
The Craft Show is one of the most anticipated events in Philadelphia, showcasing museum-quality contemporary craft and design while providing funds to support the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Show has raised over $14.5 million over the years for the Museum. These funds provide financial support for educational programs, special exhibitions, equipment, the acquisition of art and craft for the permanent collection, and various other programs and projects. As the largest fundraiser for the museum, all ticket sales from the Craft Show will play an essential role in supporting various initiatives set forth by the museum for years to come.
