The new menu was developed in a true Philly partnership, with the HipCityVeg culinary team working directly with Bassetts President, Alex Bassett Strange, to perfect the recipes. The collaboration brings together a modern, plant-based pioneer and a historic Philadelphia institution, resulting in a menu that's both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

Introducing the New Frozen Treats:

Available now at all Philadelphia HipCityVeg locations, the new menu offers three distinct and delicious ways to enjoy the Bassetts mango-apricot sorbet:

  • Float City: A bright and bubbly escape in a glass, this vibrant float starts with a scoop of the tangy, ultra-smooth mango-apricot sorbet and is topped with the crisp fizz of Boylan's classic ginger ale. It's a sweet, zesty, and effervescent treat.
  • Sunset Swirl Smoothie: This creamy, sun-soaked smoothie blends the Bassetts sorbet with ripe bananas and tangy pineapple juice. A generous swirl of strawberry purée is then ribboned through the mix, adding a burst of berry brightness and a beautiful visual pop.
  • Mango Cream Supreme: A golden blend of tropical indulgence, this velvety shake swirls the mango-apricot sorbet with luscious organic soy & vanilla bean ice cream and a splash of bright orange juice, creating a rich, citrusy cream dream.

For those who prefer to keep it simple, all HipCityVeg Philly locations will also offer scoops ofBassetts' mango-apricot sorbet on its own.

The collaboration launched with a festive, free pop-up event on Tuesday, July 22nd, outside the HipCityVeg Rittenhouse Square location (127 S 18th Street). Crowds gathered as free samples of the new menu items were served from a classic Bassetts ice cream cart, officially kicking off the summer partnership.

This exciting team-up between HipCityVeg and Bassetts Ice Cream offers a perfect solution for the dog days of summer. It's a delicious celebration of local flavor and innovation, providing Philadelphians with a new and exciting way to enjoy plant-based frozen treats.
