While many small businesses struggled during the pandemic, Taqueria Amor thrived. Despite the sluggish economy, Tim and his team have ambitious plans for the restaurant. Taqueria Amor in Manayunk
The restaurant reopened last year as Taqueria Amor, thanks to the efforts of Tim Spinner, an Iron Chef who worked at Distrito, Amada, and El Vez. He also works with Iron Chef Jose Garces, who opened Cantina Feliz and La Calaca before opening his own taqueria. The two restaurants have been in business for seven years and have been recognized locally for their Mexican-influenced fare.
Tim Dawson and his partners bought the original Taqueria Feliz a few decades ago. He was already developing the restaurant, transforming it into a full-fledged Mexican restaurant. With his help, he and his partners transitioned from the original Mexican eatery to a new establishment. The name was changed, and the interior was revamped. The menu features an extensive array of authentic dishes, including a special Taco Tuesday.
