Kimmel Cultural Campus Hosts Free Performances And Family Fun As Part Of Wawa Welcome America Festivities
The celebration will occur on Saturday, 1 July, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. It will bring the festival atmosphere indoors with Broadway performers and local artists. The day will include family-friendly events like Disney's The Lion King coloring and mask-making stations, corn hole, and other activities. Plus, guests can win exclusive giveaways, free merchandise, and tickets!
The Kimmel's Plaza stage will feature:
- Let's Rock Recess: A Family DJ Dance Party featuring Emcee Mighty Flipside, DJ Stan, and fun interactive games. There are also dance contests and prizes.
- Soulful line dancing demonstration with DJ Chris Blues, W.D.O.H., and The Parkside Experience.
- Cast members of Moulin Rouge: the musical perform!
- A cast member from Disney's The Lion King performs
- Disney's Frozen cast member performs
- Philly's seven-piece brass band SNACKTIME delivers a soul-energizing show.
Garces Events invites guests to a pop-up Beer Garden in the alleyway of the Academy of Music at the Kimmel Cultural Campus on Broad Street. Garces Trading Company will provide additional concessions. The concessions will be themed after fan favorites like pretzel dogs and shaved ice. Attendees can also try the signature Moulin rouge! The Musical Cocktail: Lady Marmalade, an Aperol-spritz. Volver will open during its regular Saturday hours.
