Forsythia Celebrates Autumn With la Fête De La Citrouille

La Fête de la Citrouille is the latest in an ongoing French-themed culinary series at Old City’s acclaimed contemporary French bar and restaurant. The French AF Series allows Kearse and his team the opportunity to experiment with a wide variety of classic French ingredients, regions, and techniques while offering food enthusiasts a one-of-a-kind, exclusive dining experience available for one-night-only. Keeping in line with the autumnal season, Kearse’s La Fête de la Citrouille menu highlights the traditional, much-loved fall vegetable – pumpkin – incorporated in unique, thoughtfully-prepared plates.

“The French AF Series allows us to experiment with our favorite seasonal ingredients and flavors, with pumpkin being one that we couldn’t wait to showcase in various ways," said Chef Christopher Kearse. “We’re especially pumped for La Fête de la Citrouille as this is the first installment where we’ll have a sommelier on-site to go into detail about each wine and how it pairs well with the pumpkin plates.”

Guests experiencing this exclusive tasting menu can opt for wine pairings hand-picked by revered sommelier and Founder of Celerier’s Cellar, Matthieu Celerier, for an additional $65/person. Celerier will be on-site for the duration of the evening to guide attendees through each wine, course-by-course. Forsythia’s La Fête de la Citrouille Event is $90 plus tax and tip. Reservations are highly encouraged and can be made by clicking here.

Those interested in attending upcoming The French AF Series dinners can mark their calendars for Wednesday, November 9, to celebrate Normandy gastronomy with La Fête Normande. Details will be provided in the weeks ahead.
