Old City’s Industry Night at Forsythia

PHILADELPHIA - Forsythia, Old City’s contemporary French bar and restaurant helmed by Chef Christopher Kearse, is hosting the next installment of its popular Industry Night Series, where restaurant industry folk can unwind and enjoy an evening out a post-work week or capping off their shift on Monday, July 25 from 7 - 11 pm. This go-around, guests can expect a killer hoagie collaboration between Liberty Kitchen and Chef Kearse, guest bartender Chris Sandstrom of Glory Beer Bar & Kitchen, knife sharpening demos, a screening of the Phillies game, and more.

Craft beer extraordinaire Chris Sandstrom of neighboring restaurant Glory Beer Bar & Kitchen will be behind Forsythia's bar for the night, where he’ll be pouring Saisons from Forest & Main Brewing Co. and ciders from Ploughman Ciders for imbibers to sip on throughout the evening. For fare, Matt Buddah of Liberty Kitchen, South Kensington & Fishtown’s locally-focused deli and market, will be in the kitchen preparing a variety of mouthwatering hoagies along with Chef Kearse.

In addition to bites and libations, guests can view the Phillies vs. Braves game streamed on the massive projector in Forsythia’s dining room and catch a knife sharpening demo courtesy of Corey Richards from Steel & Stone, a just-launched Philadelphia-based knife-sharpening service.

Moving forward, Forsythia will host a different guest bartender each month for Industry Night, held the final Monday of each month, and will continue to include local purveyors through demos, food collaborations, performances, and more. Walk-ins are welcome, with no reservations required.
