PHILADELPHIA - MilkBoy Philly, the landmark locale of the iconic Philadelphia-born brand located in Center City, and Bluebird Distilling, Phoenixville’s award-winning grain-to-glass craft distillery, are partnering up to pay homage to the Golden Girl of Television and America’s Sweetheart Betty White on Sunday, January 16.
One day prior to what would have been the award-winning actress, comedian, and animal rights activist's 100th birthday with re-runs of The Golden Girls, riffs on White’s favorite food and signature cocktail, and a donation to America’s first animal refuge Morris Animal Refuge.
The Golden Girl: A Celebration of Betty White by MilkBoy Philadelphia and Bluebird Distilling
To celebrate the milestone occasion of White who recently passed at age 99 on December 31, 2021, MilkBoy Philly on 11th and Chestnut Street will air reruns of the iconic ‘80s sitcom The Golden Girls which co-starred White as playing the lovable [albeit spacey] Rose Nylund for seven seasons, starting promptly at 7 pm till late night. Guests can snack on Golden Tots ($7) prepared with Yard’s Brewery Beer Wiz, applewood bacon, sour cream, and pickled jalapeños, and sip on White’s go-to cocktail, Bluebird Vodka Martini ($10) crafted with scratch-made 100% rye Vodka from award-winning local distiller, Bluebird Distilling.
As a nod to White’s decades-long stride as an animal rights activist and animal lover in her own right, MilkBoy Philly, in partnership with sponsor, Bluebird Distilling, will be donating 100% of proceeds garnered from sales of the Bluebird Vodka Martinis to Morris Animal Refuge, America’s first-ever animal shelter based in Philadelphia.
