Oloroso Presents "A Taste of Yucatán": A Culinary Collaboration with James Beard Semifinalist Chef Juan Carlos Aparicio
This immersive culinary adventure will guide guests through the vibrant flavors of the Yucatán Peninsula, showcasing a unique blend of traditional and contemporary Mexican gastronomy. The five-course prix fixe menu, priced at $75 per person, will feature tantalizing creations like Sopa Fria de Maíz (sweet corn soup), Tomate à la Parrilla (burnt eggplant romesco), Cochinita Pibil Negra (pork shank with black adobo), Pescado Tikin Xik (wood-fired white fish), and a delectable Marquisita Yucateca dessert.
Chef Peabody expressed his excitement for the collaboration, stating, "Our goal with this series of chef-driven pop-up dinners is to engage talent that we admire and greatly respect, such as Chef Juan Carlos Aparicio, and to create a truly collaborative experience that will only be available for one night only. Juan Carlos is doing incredible work at El Chingon, and it's truly an honor to create this dinner with him and our team right here in the Oloroso kitchen."
To complement the culinary journey, Oloroso's in-house sommelier Gordana Kostovski will curate a selection of expertly paired wines, while Beverage Director Andrew Hicks of the Townsend Wentz Restaurant Group will offer à la carte mezcal-centric cocktails. Guests can also choose from Oloroso's full bar offerings, including sangria, cider, sherry, wine, and seasonal sippers.
"A Taste of Yucatán" will offer two seatings, at 5:30 PM and 8 PM, on Monday, August 12th. Reservations are highly encouraged and can be made via Resy. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the vibrant flavors of the Yucatán and the culinary artistry of two exceptional chefs in the heart of Philadelphia.
