Almyra, A Modern Greek Restaurant and Bar in Rittenhouse

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Estia Restaurant Group, pioneers of Greek cuisine in Philadelphia for nearly two decades, is proud to announce the opening of Almyra, a modern Greek restaurant and bar located at the corner of 17th and Chancellor Streets in the heart of Philadelphia.  Opening in early December, Almyra will transport guests to the sandy beaches of the Aegean Sea with its vibrant atmosphere and menu featuring an array of dishes from an open kitchen.

Almyra’s 7,000 square foot space boasts a bright, airy 200-seat open-concept dining room with Grecian design elements drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean shoreline's buildings, homes, and sights utilizing neutral colors, natural materials, and textured fabrics. A 45-seat custom-made marble-top bar sits to the right of the dining room with a sizable handmade chandelier complete with 177 glass roses serving as the focal point. Adjacent to the bar is a large wall installation designed by a friend of the Pashalis family featuring driftwood from their hometown in Nafpaktos, Greece.

The menu at Almyra will feature dishes such as whole fish, crudo, rotisserie meats grilled skewers and various Greek-inspired appetizers dips and spreads that can be paired with a rotating beverage menu boasting Greek spirits such as Ouzo Metaxa Rakomelo Mastiha and wines. Highlights include Tirokafteri (whipped feta parmesan jalapeno lemon), Patzaria (beets lemon labneh garlic), Greco Roll (salmon sushi rice cucumber topped with tarama spicy mayo), Crispy Rice (tuna avocado green olive tapenade), Shrimp Kadaifi Wrapped Jumbo Shrimp (served with spicy mayo olive aioli), Lamb Chops (herb-marinated Australian lamb grilled served with fried layered potatoes), Short Ribs (slow braised beef creamy feta mash) Lavraki (whole grilled seabass ladolemono) Lobster Pasta (butter poached creamy roasted tomato feta).

Almyra will also offer group bookings upon opening in its semi-private dining room at the rear of the restaurant. It boasts 30 seats at beautiful timber tables with windows on one side of the room and a wine display on the other. Guests can enjoy happy hour food and beverage specials from 4 pm to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Almyra will open its doors for dinner service from 4 pm - 10 pm daily;the bar will be open until 11 pm Wednesday & Thursday & midnight Friday & Saturday with snacks from the kitchen.
