The festivities kick off on Friday, May 30, with "Pride Around the City." The massive 600-foot progress rainbow pride flag – America's largest – will travel to iconic Philadelphia locations, creating vibrant photo opportunities and building excitement. Community members interested in being part of this historic flag journey can sign up at www.phillypride365.org.
On Saturday, May 31, the celebration elevates with the LUV Awards (Legacy, Unity, Visibility Awards) & Pride Promenade. Held at the prestigious Philadelphia Museum of Art starting at 7:00 PM, this benefit event promises red carpet moments, captivating performances, dancing, and delicious food and drink. Proceeds from the LUV Awards will support a no-charge Youth & Young Adult Prom, furthering the commitment to young members of the community.
The weekend culminates on Sunday, June 1, with the Philadelphia Pride March and Festival. The day begins with the Philadelphia Gay News annual Stonewall Awards Brunch at 10:00 AM. The Pride March then assembles at 6th and Walnut at 10:30 AM, featuring the 600-foot flag, and proceeds to the Gayborhood. Following the march, the Pride Festival runs from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with over 200 vendors, food trucks, multiple entertainment stages hosted by local bars like Woody's and The Bike Stop, and dedicated community zones including a Youth & Family Zone, Sober Vibes Zone, and Sapphic Way.
"Pride provides a boost to small businesses, especially our nightlife community, who do more than just entertain—they are often on the front lines of advocacy," said UAC President Arun Prabhakaran, emphasizing the importance of supporting these spaces year-round.
