Get ready for delightful light bites, craft cocktails, and the vibrant Alice experience now available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
New Weekend Mid-Day Escape at Alice:
Starting Saturday, May 17th, Alice will open its doors for mid-day service every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, ahead of its standard dinner service. This expansion aims to capture a new audience looking for a sophisticated yet relaxed spot to unwind during weekend explorations of the Italian Market.
"We’ve been toying with the idea of expanding hours, particularly on the weekends, for quite some time now,” said Dave Conn, Chef/Owner of Alice. “Our goal with opening on Saturday and Sunday afternoons is to capture a new crowd of people who may be exploring the Italian Market during the day and are searching for light bites and refreshing cocktails to enjoy along the way.”
Guests can expect access to Alice's full beverage menu, featuring standout seasonal sippers like the "Love Fool" ($17) – a delightful mix of cava, prickly pear, hibiscus, and white rum – and "The Ruby Club" ($19), a sophisticated concoction of dry gin, yellow chartreuse, rhubarb, raspberry, and egg white. An impressive selection of hard-to-find global wines and craft beers will also be available.
To accompany the drinks, Conn and his team have curated a brief but enticing menu of small plates, including:
- Organic Fried Chicken Sandwich ($15) topped with iceberg lettuce, buttermilk ranch, and spicy pickles.
- Green Salad ($19) featuring green garlic, parmesan, and crispy artichoke.
- French Fries ($10) served with shio koji and garlic aioli.
This inaugural mid-day menu is subject to rotation and expansion as the summer months approach.
Alice Shines at the Italian Market Festival (May 17th & 18th):
For the second year since its opening in June 2023, Alice will be a vibrant participant in the beloved South 9th Street Italian Market Festival. On Saturday, May 17th, and Sunday, May 18th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, festival-goers can find Chef Conn and his team right in front of the restaurant at 9th and Christian Streets.
They'll be serving up a special limited-time takeaway menu (first come, first served) perfect for enjoying amidst the festival buzz:
- Aperol Spritz ($15)
- Peroni ($7)
- Spaghett ($10) – a unique "beer spritz" with Aperol, Miller High Life, and lemon juice.
- Rosé ($10/6oz; $15/9oz)
- Spaghetti & Crabs ($15)
- Charcoal-Grilled Wings ($15)
In addition to these takeaway treats, Alice's new mid-day menu will be available for those dining indoors or al fresco on their charming patio during festival hours.
