Chestnut Hill Conservancy to Illuminate Germantown Avenue with 7th Annual Night of Lights

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Chestnut Hill Conservancy is returning its popular Night of Lights streetscape exhibition for the seventh time. From October 3rd to 9th, Germantown Avenue will transform into a vibrant display of local history and illuminated architecture.

Seven storefront windows will showcase archival images, while colorful lights will highlight the unique architectural features of historic buildings. This year's new addition is a digital laser show on the 8300 block of Germantown Avenue.

The main event starts on Friday, October 4th, with a "Flip the Switch" ceremony, followed by storytellers, live music, and interactive activities. Throughout the week, attendees can enjoy themed slideshows projected onto storefront windows, exploring topics like the history of the Wissahickon Valley, Chestnut Hill architecture, local artists, public transportation, and more.

Special events include a History Jam at the Venetian Club on October 8th and a Trivia Night at Chestnut Hill Brewery on October 9th.

This free event is made possible by the support of numerous sponsors and partners, including Chubb, Chestnut Hill Hotel, and the City of Philadelphia. Night of Lights offers a unique opportunity to learn about the area's rich history and appreciate its vibrant architecture.
