Barnes on the Block Returns to Philadelphia for Seventh Year of Art and Community

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Barnes Foundation and Mural Arts Philadelphia are again joining forces to present the seventh annual Barnes on the Block, a free community block party celebrating creativity and connection. This year's event, presented by PNC Arts Alive, will take place on Sunday, July 14th, from noon to 5 p.m. on the Barnes Foundation's grounds.

Barnes on the Block offers diverse activities for all ages, showcasing the vibrancy of Philadelphia's artistic community. Visitors can enjoy live painting demonstrations led by Mural Arts Philadelphia, get hands-on with clay at The Clay Studio's Claymobile pop-up studio, and celebrate hip-hop through dance with TAMEARTZ.

Other interactive activities include personalized poetry writing, creating identity symbols, crafting collages, and decorating lanterns. With a focus on family-friendly fun, Barnes on the Block offers something for everyone to enjoy.

Attendees can savor delicious food from a variety of food trucks and sip on seasonal brews at the Barnes on the Block Beer Garden by Constellation Culinary Group. The beer garden will feature selections from Philadelphia's own Yards Brewing Co., Two Robbers vodka sodas inspired by Mural Arts, Surfside Vodka Iced Tea and Lemonade, French wines, Hibiscus Punch featuring Tenango Rum, and non-alcoholic options.

Live music and dance performances will fill the air throughout the day, with DJ sets by Ben Arsenal and DJ Giz and performances by TAMEARTZ, West Powelton Steppers and Drum Squad, Batala Philly, and more.

During Barnes on the Block, guests can also enjoy free admission to the first floor of the Barnes collection, the new exhibition Matisse & Renoir: New Encounters at the Barnes, and Visions, an exhibition featuring original artwork created by participants in Mural Arts Philadelphia's Guild program and artists at SCI Phoenix.

Free tickets for timed admission to the Barnes collection and exhibitions will be available online starting July 11th. Capacity is limited, so early registration is recommended. Visit the Barnes Foundation website for the full schedule of events and to reserve your free tickets.
