Rex at The Royal - Champagne, Oysters, & Caviar Event

Staying true to Rex at The Royal’s Lowcountry roots, the bottomless punchbowl will feature a Southern twist on the classic Dickensian punch, traditionally made with Cognac, rum, citrus, and sugar, perfect for getting in the holiday spirit. It wouldn’t be the holidays without sparkling wine — the event will showcase a wine flight of three carefully selected varieties, including Sidónio de Sousa Brut Nature Sparkling, Gruet Sauvage Blanc de Blancs, and R. Dumont et Fils grower Champagne. Accompanying the bevy of libations will be an all-you-can-eat oyster shucking station complete with two types of oysters, pickled ramp mignonette, truffle mignonette, house fermented hot sauce, and house cocktail sauce. Guests can also indulge in a stationed charcuterie and cheese board, as well as several passed hors d’oeuvres, such as Mississippi Paddlefish Caviar Blinis and Poached Lobster Tail with Truffle Hollandaise.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting more events, from chef tastings to cookbook launch parties, holiday celebrations, and more,” Joshua Scheid, Beverage Manager at Rex at The Royal, commented. “During Elegant Extras, we’ll be highlighting our favorite sparkling wines that are perfect for this time of year, as well as showcasing what we’re known for by putting a Southern twist on our bottomless punchbowl and opening up the raw bar.”

Fans of the sparkling wine served during the event can buy wine by the glass or keep the celebration going once the night is over by purchasing bottles from Rex at The Royal’s robust bottle shop.
