Philadelphia Theatre Company Presents The Broadway Smash Choir Boy

The TONY award-winning drama features stunning gospel, sacred and R&B performances in this tale of singing your own way and finding your own path. Viewers will be transported to the Charles R. Drew Boys Preparatory School, an elite male and black preparatory school dedicated to educating strong and ethical black men.

Taking his place at the forefront as choir director, Farus Young is determined to make his mark by defying expectations in a world full of deeply rooted traditions. But will he be able to pass through the sacred halls of this institution if he sings in his own key?

Art mimics life in a true Philadelphia and Avenue of the Arts success story as PTC artist-in-residence Jeffrey L. Page makes his directorial debut. Mr. Page found his voice and went from a University of the Arts student to directing this fantastic work for one of Philadelphia's biggest theater companies. He will lead an outstanding cast of young rising stars, Broadway veteran and Philadelphia darling.

The Philadelphia Theater Company will be the first company in the region to require viewers to provide proof of vaccination with a booster vaccine (if eligible) for this show and to wear a mask at the venue.

PTC has suspended the sale of concessions for this show to allow attendees to wear masks. PTC also offers fewer seats throughout the theater, with 20% mezzanine seating. The theater will offer two special performances at 25 percent occupancy only for those who want to be more careful.
