Herr's, the Pennsylvania-based snack maker, unveiled its third Flavored by Philly collection earlier this summer, showcasing three unique chip flavors inspired by iconic Philadelphia dishes. Romano's Stromboli's Special Hot Chips emerged victorious, beating out strong contenders like Talluto's Cheese Ravioli, Marinara, and Mom Mom's Kitchen Potato Pierogi.

The competition saw a nearly 50% increase in voter participation compared to last year, with over 26,000 snack enthusiasts casting their votes for their favorite Philadelphia flavor. This surge in engagement underscores the city's deep passion for its culinary heritage and the "Flavored by Philly" contest's role in celebrating it.

Ed Herr, Chairman and CEO of Herr's, expressed his excitement about the winning flavor, highlighting its ability to capture the essence of the contest. The collaboration with Romano's Stromboli has allowed Herr's to bring a beloved Philadelphia classic to snack lovers in a whole new way.

The owner of Romano's Stromboli, Peter Romano, was equally thrilled about the victory. He expressed his gratitude for sharing his family's cherished recipe with a broader audience and his excitement for the future.

Romano's Stromboli will receive $10,000 as the winning flavor finalist, while John Lishok, who nominated the winning flavor, will receive $5,000. The runners-up, Talluto's and Mom Mom's Kitchen will each receive $2,500, and their nominators will each receive $1,000.

Herr's has promised to bring back the Flavored by Philly contest next year, inviting Philadelphia's culinary creatives to continue showcasing their unique flavors and passion for food. In the meantime, Philadelphia can savor the taste of victory with Romano's Stromboli: Special Hot Chips, a delicious tribute to the city's rich food culture.
