A Tribute to "Little Walter": Named after his maternal grandfather, Walter Bubick, who was affectionately known as "Little Walter," the restaurant pays homage to Brenfleck's Eastern European roots. His love for Polish cuisine, particularly pierogi, was ignited during cherished family gatherings and holiday traditions. Now, he's eager to share his culinary vision with Philadelphia's vibrant food scene.
A Modern Twist on Classic Flavors: Little Walter's debut menu showcases a contemporary interpretation of Polish classics, incorporating locally sourced ingredients and innovative techniques. Guests can anticipate savoring dishes like Pierogi Ruskie (potato and farmer's cheese), Kielbasa (traditional sausage), and house-made sourdough rye bread, all prepared with a focus on quality and flavor.
Imaginative Craft Cocktails: The bar program at Little Walter's is equally impressive, featuring a selection of expertly crafted cocktails named after Polish professionals. Each libation incorporates spirits and liqueurs native to Poland, offering a unique and authentic taste experience. Signature sippers include the "Urbanista" (a 16 oz Żubr and a shot of Żubrowska), "Tłumacz" (plum brandy, lime juice, and salt), and "Alchemiczka" (bison grass vodka). Non-alcoholic options like the refreshing "Mleczarz" (whey, lemon juice, and dill) are also available.
A Chef's Passion Project: Chef Brenfleck, a 15-year veteran of the Philadelphia restaurant scene, brings a wealth of experience and culinary expertise to Little Walter's. After successfully testing his Polish concept at pop-ups at Feliz Restaurant Group locations and generating buzz in publications like The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia magazine, Brenfleck is ready to share his passion with the city.
Little Walter's will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, with reservations available via Resy.
