A French Culinary Fête for Bastille Day in Philadelphia

PHIADELPHIA, PA - Philadelphia celebrates Bastille Day, the French national holiday, with culinary flair and a dash of joie de vivre. Two esteemed establishments, Townsend and Jansen, offer unique dining experiences to commemorate this historic occasion.

Townsend, Chef Townsend Wentz's French restaurant on East Passyunk Avenue, joins the festivities with a particular Bastille Day happy hour with Latchkey Records, a beloved local vinyl boutique. A special $35 three-course prix fixe menu will feature French-inspired delicacies like foie gras mousse, Escargot, and Roasted Duck Breast. For burger enthusiasts, Townsend's renowned Le Burger will also be on offer. Walk-ins are welcome for this vibrant and celebratory happy hour.

Jansen, nestled in the charming neighborhood of Mt. Airy, is a contemporary New American restaurant helmed by Chef David Jansen. From July 9th to 12th, they've crafted a limited-time, three-course prix fixe menu to honor Bastille Day. For $65 per person, guests can savor Jansen's reimagined French classics, such as Potato and Leek Vichyssoise with sautéed shrimp, Coq au Vin, Poached Norwegian Salmon, and a delectable Crème Brûlée. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made through Resy.

Meanwhile, Parc,  the famous French restaurant in Rittenhouse Square, will host a Bastille Day celebration on July 14th. They'll offer exceptional daily food and beverage promotions, live music, and family-friendly activities.

Café Click will enter the spirit on Thursday, July 11th, with a St. Germain pop-up from 3– 6 p.m.

Finally,  The Barnes Foundation and Mural Arts Philadelphia are collaborating for their seventh annual Barnes on the Block on Sunday, July 14th, from noon to 55 pm.
