Mazzoni Center in Philadelphia, the largest LGBTQ health center, announced the addition of Tony Award-winning J Harrison Ghee, Martha Wash, the Grammy-nominated singer behind songs like "It's raining men," and Emmy Award and Peabody Award-winning journalist Soledad O’Brien as the evening’s host.
The Mazzoni Center Honors Event now includes Ghee, Tony Award nominee L Morgan Lee, and Tony Award winner Alex Newell.
The other artists announced previously for the November 13th tribute concert are Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, Grammy Award-winning singer Paula Cole, Tony Award-nominated Charlotte d'Amboise, Broadway and Television Star Telly Leung, Tony Award Nominee Terrence Mann, International Pop Music Sensation Lizzy McAlpine, Lauren Hart, voted the Best Anthem Singer of NHL History, and the Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus. Richard Barone is producing the event with Nick Wilders as musical director.
Schwartz will receive a special award for his humanitarian and musical impact as part of the evening festivities.
The Mazzoni Center, the largest LGBTQ nonprofit in Philadelphia and the largest health and wellness center for the Philadelphia LGBTQ Community is the largest LGBTQ-focused organization. The Center provides services to over 25,000 people each year. These include primary medical care and HIV & STI tests, gender-affirming care, mental health services, housing, and a food bank. Mazzoni Center, which believes no one should be turned away due to financial constraints, gives away more than one million dollars of care each year to uninsured or underinsured clients.
