DELAWARE - The Appoquinimink Public Library in Middletown, Delaware, opened its doors on Friday, providing access to learning materials, books, and maker space activities. The new facility is an expansive $28 million facility with more than 27500 square feet of space, including makerspaces, video production labs, nooks for discovering books, and a large children's section.

A newly renovated Appoquinimink Public Library has been a long time coming for Middletown, which has been struggling with a teensy library for decades. A new 28,000-square-foot building with a digital center opened to a small crowd. County Executive Matt Meyer hailed it as a great day for the community and south New Castle County. The building's design ties together historic downtown Middletown and the more significant commercial development to the east.
