PHILADELPHIA, PA  - Corridor Contemporary’s main goal is to showcase local artists to a diverse audience. On Friday, August 5, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Corridor Contemporary is hosting the opening of their new group exhibition: “Philadelphia Featured.” The entire gallery floor will be dedicated to highlighting a diverse group of local Philadelphia-based artists.

Working in a wide range of modes and mediums, the artists featured in the exhibition represent the incredible vibrancy, thoughtfulness, and talent that is omnipresent in the Philadelphia art scene.

Many artists featured in the exhibition are deeply ingrained in the local Philadelphia art scene and ecosystem. Whether a prolific muralist, a globally recognized street artist, or an emerging figurative painter, all featured artists showcase the immense amount of talent local to Philadelphia. Artists featured in the exhibition include Samantha Carell, King Saladeen, Ira Upin, Paul Fuentes, Elizabeth Bergeland, Jason Andrew Turner, O'Neil Scott, Seek One, Michael Sikorski, and Stephen D'Onofrio.

“Corridor Contemporary focuses on supporting local artists, and this group exhibition will allow the community to see the amazing work being done right here in our city.” - Damian Munoz, Corridor Contemporary’s Gallery Director.

In addition to focusing on local artists, Corridor Contemporary works to introduce their Philadelphia audience to a wide range of international works. They can achieve this goal through their sister galleries, one in Philadelphia’s culturally vibrant neighborhood, Fishtown, and the other in Tel Aviv, Israel. They simultaneously show exhibitions at the galleries, with both locations showcasing a unique selection of works by international figures and artists local to each space.

Along with the “Philadelphia Featured” exhibition opening in August, Anthony Rondinone’s “Sunny Days & Lonely Nights” exhibition will continue to display through August. Rondinone's art focuses on reinterpreting familiar pop culture characters to express the different types of people and coping mechanisms he has experienced in the Bronx, where he was born and raised.
