PHILADELPHIA - A taste of South Philly is officially coming to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). PrimoHoagies, the iconic sandwich shop born on Ritner Street in 1992, is set to open a new location in Terminal A-East in early 2026. The new outpost will give local travelers a familiar taste of home and introduce visitors to an authentic Philadelphia staple right as they arrive.

A "Founded in Philly" Icon

The new PrimoHoagies is part of PHL Food & Shops’ "Founded in Philly" campaign, an initiative designed to showcase the city's robust and famous food scene. The hoagie giant will join other beloved local brands that have set up shop at the airport, including Federal Donuts & Chicken, Elixr Coffee Roasters, Oyster House, and Middle Child.

"This opening is a milestone, connecting passengers to a true Philadelphia classic as soon as they step into the airport,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of MarketPlace PHL. “Bringing PrimoHoagies to Philadelphia International Airport feels like a homecoming for a brand so deeply ingrained in the city’s food culture.”

The airport location is a collaboration with The Grove Inc. (TGI), an experienced food and beverage operator, and ACDBE partner M2 Concepts, LLC.

Perfect Timing for a Global Stage

“We’re thrilled to bring PrimoHoagies to the Philadelphia airport... This partnership marks a major milestone in our growth and a perfect way to represent Philly flavor on a global stage,” said Nicholas Papanier Jr., CEO of PrimoHoagies.
