PHILADELPHIA - In a powerful display of community solidarity for Women’s History Month, twenty-eight female-owned businesses in Manayunk have joined forces for the 5th Annual Manayunk Wingwomen program. This month-long initiative is designed to combat period poverty and provide essential postpartum support to families across Philadelphia.

Organized by Brandy Deieso, owner of The Little Apple, this year’s program is the largest to date. Neighborhood visitors and residents are encouraged to drop off essential health and wellness items at participating locations on Main Street through March 31, 2026.

Two Ways to Give Back

The Manayunk Wingwomen initiative supports two vital Philadelphia organizations:

Essential Items Needed

Many of these necessities are expensive and often out of reach for those in need. The following items are being prioritized for collection:

A "Sticker" of Appreciation: As a special thank you, everyone who makes a donation will receive a custom "Manayunk Wingwoman" vinyl sticker to show their community pride.

The Big Surprise: A New Resource for Manayunk

Due to the overwhelming success of the program in previous years, the organizers have announced a permanent addition to the neighborhood. In partnership with the North Light Community Center, Manayunk will officially launch its own Grab-N-Flow distribution shed in April 2026.

This local resource will allow neighbors to both give and receive support anonymously, ensuring that essential hygiene products stay within the surrounding community.
