Gardens Association (APGA), highlighting the beauty, plant variety, and joy that can be found in public gardens across the U.S. Go Public Gardens Days will promote public gardens’ important role in providing beauty and respite to more than 120 million people across North America.

APGA created the initiative to drive the public to visit, value, and volunteer at public gardens in their area and when they travel. Many of the 37 gardens in and around Philadelphia – known as America’s Garden Capital – will have their own unique opportunity to celebrate the initiative through garden promotions, onsite celebrations, onsite tours, family-friendly activities, and other special events.

Many of the region’s public gardens are also hosting tours and activities in celebration of Go Public Gardens Days, and this information can be found at gpgd.info and the individual garden websites. To see the complete list of gardens here in America’s Garden Capital and to access each garden’s website visit: americasgardencapital.org.

In combination with Go Public Gardens Days, each garden offers a Passport to “America’s Garden Capital” – a compact booklet highlighting this region with so many gardens to offer! Passports are available at each garden, free of charge, while supplies last. Organized by geographic region, the Passport provides need-to-know information, must-visit experiences at each garden, and also provides a link to access online garden itineraries. Visit all 37 gardens to get your Passport stamped (or download the stamp images online) and win a prize!
