The Philadelphia Youth Choral Ensembles (PYCE) is opening its doors to the next generation of musical talent. Auditions for the nationally recognized Commonwealth Youth Choir (CYC) are set to begin on January 6, 2026, offering children and teens across the Greater Philadelphia region a chance to join one of the most prestigious youth vocal programs in the country.

A New Chapter for Philadelphia’s Young Voices

The Commonwealth Youth Choir represents a bold evolution in the city's choral history. In 2024, the program successfully integrated the legendary Keystone State Boychoir and the Pennsylvania Girlchoir into a single, all-gender ensemble.

Today, the CYC comprises 160 young singers aged 6 through 18. The program goes far beyond vocal technique; it is designed to foster:

Global Reach: From Philadelphia to the World

The CYC is not just a local treasure; it is an international ambassador for the arts. Over the years, its members have achieved the remarkable feat of performing on all seven continents. The choir has sung for global figures including Popes, U.S. Presidents, and Nobel Prize winners.

Looking ahead, the ensemble is preparing for a major international tour to South Korea planned for the summer of 2026—a journey that current auditionees could potentially join.

Audition Details: How to Join
