PHILADELPHIA, PA  — The Sisterly Love Collective welcomes Dana Cowin’s Speaking Broadly, a podcast featuring visionary women at the intersection of creativity, sustainability, and food, in celebration of the launch of the Speaking Broadly Zine, an extension of the platform.
The open-to-the-public event, dubbed “Sisterly Love x Speaking Broadly,” will kick off with two intimate panel discussions hosted by Dana, a curated Sisterly Love Collective pop-up shop, and continue with a cocktail party featuring bites from a dozen of Philadelphia’s award-winning chefs and concepts. The event takes place on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 4 to 8 PM at The Story Factory (1600 N. 5th Street).

The Sisterly Love Collective and Speaking Broadly, who share a mission of uplifting and giving a voice to women in hospitality and beyond, come together in this event in the spirit of female entrepreneurship. The Speaking Broadly Zine’s first issue, released in spring 2022, is a time capsule — conceived, written, designed, and edited before the pandemic — featuring a diverse mix of women in hospitality sharing personal essays, recipes, expert wine, and travel recommendations alongside some interactive games, and more.

Starting at 4 PM, Dana, the former long-tenured editor-in-chief of Food & Wine magazine, will host two 20-minute fireside chats with Lisa Calvo and Valerie Erwin, with networking, a zine signing with Dana, and shopping the Sisterly Love market interspersed. At 5:30 PM, we will drop the beat on a cocktail party with 12+ acclaimed local chefs and beverages from Moet-Hennessy and Love City Brewing.
